Accessibility Statement
Effective 2026-09-11
Our commitment, the standards we measure against, known gaps, and how to reach us if something blocks you.
1. Our Commitment
Tenebrite is committed to making its products and content accessible to people with disabilities, in line with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act. The Service is offered to United States residents only.
2. Conformance Target
We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the W3C. WCAG 2.2 success criteria are being progressively adopted as features are updated.
“Conformance” here means we measure each page against the four WCAG principles — Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, Robust — and prioritize remediation of any non-conformance reported to us or found during our own audits.
3. Measures We Take
- Design-system tokens, verified automatically. Text color tokens meet the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against every background surface they are used on, and border and non-text UI tokens meet at least 3:1. This is not a design intention we hope holds: the ratios are computed from the shipped stylesheet by an automated test in our build, in both light and dark themes, and a change that would drop a token below its threshold fails the build rather than reaching you. Last verified 9 September 2026.
- Keyboard operability. All interactive elements are reachable and operable by keyboard alone. Visible focus rings are preserved.
- Semantic structure. Pages use landmark elements (
nav, main, footer, aside), heading hierarchy, and ARIA roles where native HTML semantics are insufficient. - Form accessibility. Inputs have associated labels (visible or via
sr-only) and error messages are programmatically associated with their fields. - Screen-reader compatibility. We are validating primary flows against VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), NVDA (Windows), and TalkBack (Android); this validation is ongoing.
- Motion and animation. We respect the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query for non-essential animations. - Theme. Light and dark themes are both supported and meet AA contrast.
- Resizable text. Layouts remain usable when text is scaled up to 200% in browser settings.
4. Known Limitations
We are actively working on the following items. If any of these block you, please contact us using the details below and we will prioritize a remediation or provide an alternate accommodation.
- The day-planner’s drag-and-drop is enhanced for pointer users; a keyboard-and-time-picker fallback is available via the per-task “Reschedule” control.
- Focus-session background footage is decorative, plays muted and looped, and conveys no information required to use the timer.
- Newly-added components are audited before release; if you find a gap, please report it.
- A comprehensive WCAG 2.1 Level AA audit of the Service is in progress. Until it is complete we describe our conformance as a good-faith target rather than a certified result, and we prioritize remediation of any barrier you report.
5. Assistive Technology Compatibility
The Service is designed to work with current versions of the following browser + assistive-technology combinations:
- Chrome (latest) with NVDA on Windows 10/11.
- Firefox (latest) with NVDA on Windows 10/11.
- Safari (latest) with VoiceOver on macOS and iOS.
- Chrome (latest) with TalkBack on Android.
6. How to Report an Accessibility Issue
If you encounter a barrier in the Service, please email accessibility@tenebrite.com with:
- A description of the issue.
- The URL or feature where the issue occurred.
- The browser, operating system, and assistive technology you were using (if known).
- Any accommodation that would help you in the meantime.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within two (2) business days and to provide a substantive response within ten (10) business days.
7. Formal Complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may have the right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice’s ADA enforcement program.
8. Assessment Approach
Our accessibility position is assessed through a combination of:
- Automated audits (e.g., axe-core, Lighthouse).
- Manual testing of primary user flows with keyboard and screen-reader interaction.
- Periodic external review (target: at least once per major release).
9. Continuous Improvement
Accessibility is treated as a release-blocking concern equivalent to security and correctness, not an optional polish step. Accessibility findings are tracked in our issue tracker and prioritized alongside other defects.
